Dialogue Dinner alumni are invited to form bespoke discussion groups in which you choose which lectures you attend, which books or articles you read, and when you meet.

Interested parties should

  • Choose a pod leader who will serve as the organizer, receive the books as ordered, handle reimbursements for group meals, and confirm the attendees after each meeting.
  • Register your Pod. Fall Registration is due by September 15, 2025.  Only the pod leader needs to fill out your form.
  • There must be a minimum of 2 Schools represented in each group—more would be better.
  • Choose 1-2 approved lectures & readings per semester.  Readings must be no shorter than one long chapter or article in length.
  • Decide when and where your group will meet.  To allow time for book orders, delivery, reading, and invitations to members of Steering, the first meeting may not take place before October 15, 2025.
  • Decide if your pod is willing to meet for an additional dinner that includes students. You can repeat any of the readings that you’ve already completed.
  • Fill out the survey at the end of the year.
  • Pods are invited to attend the final main group Dialogue Dinner to be held at the Brock House on Friday, March 27, 2026.

Participants are eligible to receive

  • Books (if relevant) for all participants
  • Reimbursement for food and drink at a local restaurant (managed by the pod leader) or for groceries for a home-cooked meal.
  • $100 stipend/person/event for participation ($250 for the pod leader)

Students are invited to join in intimate discussion groups over dinner with 51·´²îæ» faculty, staff, and administrators after attending a lecture by a nationally known speaker and reading an assigned book related to the same topic. This program is designed to foster a space of inclusivity and belonging, through open dialogue among the 51·´²îæ» community.

Eligibility

Full-time students from all six schools are eligible to apply.
